Linyanti Marsh-(Chobe-Botswana)

Location:
Kings Pool Camp is located in the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve,
bordering on the western boundary of Chobe National Park in Northern
Botswana.
The reserve consists of 125,000 hectares of unspoiled
wilderness. Most of the area is characterized by open grassland,
riverine forest, mixed terminalia woodland and the dry Savuti
Channel.
The camp overlooks the oxbow-shaped Kings Pool Lagoon and
the Linyanti River to the north. |

Accommodation:
Accommodation is in 9 luxurious twin bedded tented rooms under cool
thatch overlooking the Hippo filled lagoon in front of the camp.
Each of the new bedrooms has its own large bedroom area, lounge,
private plunge pool and sala. Each en suite bathroom has a shower,
hand basin and a separate flush toilet.
There is an outdoor shower
too for those who prefer to be closer to Africa.
Each room is built on a raised deck with wonderful views onto the
Kings Pool Lagoon and its wildlife. The tents have been designed to
ensure that each guest is totally comfortable and private, while at
the same time offering all the atmosphere of a tent camp in Africa.
Each bathroom is tiled and has a shower, toilet and hand
basin. There are outside showers, too. |

Facilities:
The main lounge, pub and dining room are under thatch and there is
an open air "Kgotla" for dining under the stars.
There is a swimming
pool as well as a hide on the periphery of the camp where guests can
watch game safely during the midday "siesta" hours. |

|
Game Viewing / Activities:
The area has a large wildlife resource with a wide variety of
species, but it is most noted for its very large Elephant
populations, which can reach enormous densities during our winter
months.
There are good
populations of Impala, Lechwe, Kudu, Zebra, Giraffe, Sable,
Waterbuck, Buffalo and the smaller plains antelope. The major
predators such as Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, Wild Dog and Hyena are
regularly sighted. The reed and papyrus swamps are ideal for
numerous and diverse species of birds and are a magnet for game in
the dry winter months. |
