Location:
Nduna Safari Lodge is an exclusive
and luxurious safari lodge situated on the Malilangwe Reserve which is
the largest single privately owned nature sanctuary in Zimbabwe.
The
100 000 acre Malilangwe Reserve borders the Gonarezhou National Park
in the south east Lowveldt of Zimbabwe. It has the widest variety of
wildlife in Zimbabwe and over 400 species of birds have been recorded.
The high concentration of raptors makes it second to the Matobo Hills,
which is considered to be the best in Africa. |

Accommodation:
Nduna Safari Lodge is set
against a dramatic backdrop of sandstone cliffs overlooking a
picturesque lake. There are 6 individual air-conditioned lodges of
stone under thatch. Each lodge has a full en suite bathroom and a
private veranda with views of the lake. With a maximum of 12 guests,
Nduna Safari Lodge offers every attention to detail and highly
personalized service - perfect for those who want to get away from it
all and enjoy a luxurious and exciting safari on a private game
reserve. |

| Nduna Safari Lodge is an
intimate camp with five twin-beds and one double bed lodges, each with
its own en-suite bathroom equipped with separate bath and shower,
toilet and hand basin.
The thatch and stone lodges are fully
air-conditioned, have ceiling fans, a mini bar fridge and a personal
tea/coffee unit. Each lodge has a private game viewing veranda
overlooking the lake. |

Facilities:
The central complex has a
bar, lounge and reading area. Most meals are served on a shady deck
under a canopy of trees, on the edge of a rocky outcrop, overlooking
the lake. Nduna has always taken great pride in the high standard of
its cuisine. Everyday the chef produces a full English breakfast, a
delicious light lunch and a gourmet 3-course dinner.
A natural rock plunge pool alongside the
lake, is a popular spot for guests to relax and cool off from the
midday sun. |

Game viewing / Activities:
The wide range of animals
includes the Big 5 - lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo and rhino -
hippopotamus, cheetah, hyena, giraffe and Burchell's' zebra as well as
impala, roan, sable and Nyala antelope.
Rare species include the
painted hunting dog, Lichtenstein's hartebeest. The area is thought to be the only
place in Africa where one can see the Small 6 - a unique combination
of little antelope which includes the gray duiker, Sharpe's grysbok,
steenbok, klipspringer, oribi and Livingstone's suni. A wide variety
of activities are available to guests at Nduna Safari Lodge.
Although Nduna offers early
morning and late afternoon activities everyday, there is no rigid program,
and activities tend to be planned around the individual wishes of the
guests. All activities are included in the daily tariff, except tours off
the Malilangwe Estate, which are charged for separately. Weather

Game Drives
Game drives with licensed
guides in comfortable open top 4-wheel drive vehicles are extremely
popular at Nduna. Drives are normally offered in the early morning and
late afternoon, the best time for game viewing, enabling guests to see
the large variety of wildlife and birds on the Malilangwe Reserve.

Game and Birding Walks Walks with fully licensed
professional guides are a highlight of the Nduna experience. There can
be few better places for a wild walk than among the Malilangwe
sandstone features or along the riverine forests of the Chiredzi or
Runde rivers.
A system of hides, blinds and watering
holes has been introduced to enable guests to enjoy a close encounter
with the wildlife. Specialist birding excursions can also be arranged.Canoeing
Relaxing and safe canoeing in 2-3 man
Canadian canoes is offered on the lake in front of Nduna Safari Lodge.
This is an excellent way to view animals and birds coming down to drink on
the shores of the lake.
Fishing
Fishing enthusiasts will love Nduna.
Fishing for bream (tilapia) for the camp dining table is a popular pastime
at Nduna. The Lodge provides fishing equipment.

| Bushman Paintings Special walks can be
arranged to see the San (bushmen) paintings which have been located in
the sandstone hills on the reserve. The area is rich in these bushmen
paintings and several outdoor galleries are to be found in the caves
and rocky outcrops. Golf
The nearby Triangle, Hippo
Valley and Mkwasine Golf Clubs are all less than one hours drive from
Nduna. These local courses, two of which have been highly
recommended in international publications, offer some of the finest
and most inexpensive golf in the country. |
