Sabora Luxury Tented Camp, Western Serengeti - (Tanzania)

Location:
The Grumeti Reserve is
located adjacent to the Western Corridor of the Serengeti, bordering
the national park, and encompasses over 350,000 acres of unrivalled
wilderness. The concession is privately and exclusively owned by
Singita Grumeti Reserves.
The Grumeti area forms part of the
famous migratory route, which is travelled by hundreds of thousands
of animals every year. Singita Grumeti Reserves consists of three
properties: Sasakwa Lodge, Sabora Tented Camp and Faru Faru Lodge;
all unique properties that celebrate this incredible landscape. |

Accommodations:
Reminiscent of a bygone
era, Sabora Tented Camp dishes up lavish doses of romance,
exploration and intrigue. Creating the feel of a lavish tent, each
canvas cocoon offers opulent luxury complete with antique mahogany
travel chests, Persian rugs and silk curtains. Sip sundowners on the
deck and gaze over the waterhole - you never know what you might
see.
At Sabora, we delight in creating
delicious feasts using locally grown organic produce, coupled with
vintage wines, in surprise settings. Imagine dining beneath a
lamp-lit acacia or under the boughs of a large ‘Sausage’ tree, with
starlit skies and the distant chorus of nocturnal creatures. |

Nine luxury
air-conditioned tents each featuring an en suite bathroom with a
bath and outdoor shower, dressing area, reading area, viewing deck
with Swarovski spotting scope and a library lounge tent.
Sabora Tented Camp accommodates 18 guests.
Each tent has an electronic safe, standing fan, hairdryer, direct
dial telephone (US lines) and wireless internet access. |

Facilities:
The main area of the camp offers a
dining room, bar lounge with satellite television, DVD player and
library, elevated viewing deck and a heated swimming pool.
A heated plunge pool is situated alongside the deck area.
Tariffs include all-suite accommodation,
three meals per day, all drinks, including premium wines, spirits
and liqueurs (excluding vintage champagne, champagne, and vintage
wines on the connoisseurs wine list) and open Land Rover safaris
accompanied by an experienced guide. |

Fun activities such as archery, stargazing safaris, mountain biking
and tennis are all available.
The Equestrian Centre is situated adjacent to Sasakwa Lodge and is
home to sixteen horses. Experienced riders can enjoy out-rides on
the Serengeti Plains. Tack is English style and guests have the
choice of English or Western saddles.
A balloon safari across the plains of the Serengeti - the cost of
the balloon safari is not included in the rate. |

Game drives and walks can be enjoyed with
professional guides - the most experienced in East Africa, whilst
other activities include archery, lawn croquet, badminton,
billiards, star-gazing safaris, mountain biking, equestrian
pursuits, and hot air ballooning.
All our safaris are conducted in open
Land Rovers with a maximum of six guests per vehicle. However,
should you want complete privacy it is possible to hire a vehicle on
a private basis. Sole use of Land Rovers will need to be reserved
well in advance. Prices available on request.
Singita Grumeti Reserves forms part
of the world-famous migratory route. The Great Migration
traditionally moves through Grumeti Reserves between June and
August. However, there is an abundance of wildlife year-round. The
Serengeti, which is Africa’s No. 1 World Heritage Site, is also home
to 25 species of large carnivores, 40 herbivore species and over 600
types of bird - including five endemic species, with an impressively
large number of raptors that form the highest concentration on the
continent. This is also where you’ll find a wide range of primates,
such as the rare Patas and Colobus monkeys and prolific plant life
and species. |
