Location:

The Grumeti Reserve is located adjacent to the Western Corridor of the Serengeti, bordering the national park, and encompasses over 350,000 acres of unrivalled wilderness. The concession is privately and exclusively owned by Singita Grumeti Reserves.

The Grumeti area forms part of the famous migratory route, which is travelled by hundreds of thousands of animals every year. Singita Grumeti Reserves consists of three properties: Sasakwa Lodge, Sabora Tented Camp and Faru Faru Lodge; all unique properties that celebrate this incredible landscape.

Accommodation:

Singita Sasakwa Lodge is one of three Singita lodges in this enormous private concession (340 000 acres), which means that you’ll have this wild stretch of Africa all to yourself. Sasakwa Lodge is built in the style of an Edwardian manor house. Stone walls, deep verandas, high ceilings, stately furniture, silverware and ornamental pieces complete the picture.

Sasakwa Lodge is built on the top of Sasakwa Hill, adjacent to the western corridor of the Serengeti. The property is built in the style of a turn-of-the-century east African ranch house and every effort has been made to celebrate the spectacular views of the Serengeti plains below. The interiors celebrate nature and the colors of the bush, yet Sasakwa boasts the elegant feel of a gentleman's club contrasted with fantastic Venetian mirrors and crystal chandeliers. At Sasakwa you will find every comfort, including delicious meals, award-winning wines and a wealth of activities.

Sasakwa features seven luxurious cottages offering between one and four bedrooms. Sasakwa can accommodate a total of 28 guests at any one time.
All cottages are en suite with bath, shower and dressing room.
Each air-conditioned suite features a bedroom, lounge with fireplace, verandah, en-suite bathroom with bath and shower, dressing area, guest bathroom, and heated infinity plunge pool.
Each cottage has a guest toilet, private living room, veranda with Swarovski spotting scope and heated infinity plunge pool.
Each cottage features a personal bar and fridge, electronic safe, air-conditioning, overhead fan, hairdryer, dial direct telephone, wireless internet access, satellite television and DVD player, and fireplaces.

Facilities:

The lodge area offers a dining room, bar lounge, television lounge and garden room which open onto wrap around verandahs, as well as a library, billiards room and wine cellar.
The Spa features a steam room, relaxation area, hydrotherapy tub, fully equipped gymnasium, yoga room and two therapy rooms for treatments.

Access to the Sasakwa Equestrian Centre which is home to sixteen horses which are a combination of polo ponies, part thoroughbreds and warm blooded sport horses all between 14 and 16 hands; tack is English style and both English and Western saddles are available; all Equestrian related activities are led by professional horse guides.
A selection of compound and recurve bows are available at the Archery Range.
