Adjacent to the Greater Kruger National Park lies 11 500 hectares of pristine African bushveld, which is the Thornybush Game Reserve. With an abundance of bird and mammal species including the Big 5.

Shumbalala is the ultimate in luxury and service from arrival to departure. Mother nature herself had a hand in setting out this camp!

Set under shady African trees lining the seasonal Monwana River, our game lodge comprises four luxury suites for the best Greater Kruger Park accommodation. Our large, two bed-roomed Presidential Suite offers the ultimate luxury on safari.

All the suites have overhead fans, air-conditioning, open fireplaces, and designer "picture window" bathroom suites that include an additional outside shower for the more adventurous and a private viewing deck.

To ensure absolute exclusivity and privacy, the lodge normally accommodates only eight guests at a time.

This exclusive game lodge comprises four luxury suites and a two suite Presidential unit with private viewing decks and accommodates a small number of guests at a time, for ultimate tranquility. Daily morning and evening big 5 safari game drives and walking safaris are undertaken by qualified rangers and experienced trackers, offering guests close range game viewing opportunities.

Sumptuous, open air fireside, scenic deck or private wine cellar dinners, lazy afternoons beside the pool, quiet reading in the private library or prime bird watching are all additional luxuries afforded our honored guests who return again and again.

General Information:

Nestled under magnificent trees on the bank of a river bed overlooking an active water hole lie four suites and two superior suites with plunge pool.

Accommodating a maximum of eight guests, exclusivity and personalized service are hall marks of this intimate camp. Accommodation and decor embraces natural colors and fabrics - pure linens, cottons and soft leathers abound - with comforts such as overhead fans, air conditioning, open fireplaces, glass fronts and private viewing decks.

Sublime cuisine and walk-in underground wine cellar (in full view of the water hole) compliment the informal atmosphere.
 

Game Viewing / Activities:

Private safaris under the guidance of a skilled ranger will prove to be an exhilarating experience for bird-watchers and tree enthusiasts as they explore the rarer sights and wonders of the bush.

Any particular requests such as guided walks or tribal dances under the great African skies will be arranged with pleasure. Kings Camp is exceptionally proud of its viewing deck where guests can safely soak up the stillness and serenity of the bush while keeping a sharp lookout for passing animals and birds.
