meals, drinks and activities. Depending on where you are staying,
activities are generally based on game drives and walking safaris. |

Day 1
Afternoon transfer to the airport and fly to Lake Manyara. Gameviewing
en route to the lodge. Overnight Lake Manyara Tree Lodge.
Lake Manyara Tree Lodge is the only lodge in the small yet diverse Lake
Manyara National Park. The lodge is located in the remote south-western
region of the park, allowing for leisurely tracking of the park's famous
tree-climbing lions and for unimpeded viewing of the flocks of pelicans,
flamingoes and buffalo cooling in the soda lake.
Although it is Tanzanias smallest park,
Lake Manyara is one of the most diverse reserves in the country. The
beautiful Lake Manyara covers two thirds of the park, while the rest
consists of steep mountainside, swamps, dense woodlands, open grassy
areas and hot springs. |

Day 2
Morning and afternoon game activities. Overnight Lake Manyara Tree
Lodge.
Each of the ten tree houses have been built on stilts, in the boughs of
ancient mahogany trees, discreetly tucked away in the forest. The tree
houses have been crafted from local timber and makuti (palm fronds) and
feature large open decks and spacious rooms with large windows to invite
the flourishing forest into the luxurious elegance of each room.
The interiors of the tree
houses are a sumptuous combination of natural fibres, pure cotton linen
and contemporary furnishings. The bedrooms consists of four-poster
bed-like drapings and earthy, understated accessories in natural colours
and textures. Overhead fans and mosquito nets as well as en suite
bathrooms with baths and large twin hand basins ensure that every
comfort is attended to. There is an exhilarating outdoor shower while
the private verandas have comfortable furniture and offer extensive
views of the lovely forest environment. |

Day 3
Morning game
viewing en route to Ngorongoro. Lunch and afternoon game
viewing in the crater. Overnight Ngorongoro Crater
Lodge.
On the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater,
northern Tanzania. Nearly three million years ago
Ngorongoro towered alongside Mount Kilimanjaro as one of
the highest peaks in Africa. Forged during the
tumultuous birth of the Rift Valley, its volcanic top
erupted at the time that ancient man first walked the
plains.
Day 4
Game-viewing in the Crater with a picnic lunch
returning to the lodge in the afternoon. Overnight
Ngorongoro Crater Lodge. |

Day 5 and 6.
Transfer to Manyara airstrip and fly to Serengeti, lunch and afternoon
game activity and full day of game viewing on Day 6.With sweeping
views into the Grumeti River Valley, the camp's eight tasteful cottages
are built of local rock and thatch, their interior augmented by
traditional African design.
Klein's Camp comprises a main lodge and ten luxury cottages, set on the
edge of the Kuka Hills, commanding sweeping views of the valley below.
Round stone walls and polished floors beautifully offset the soft cream
and gossamer-fabric interiors. The dcor at Klein's resembles an old
Tangyanikan coffee plantation house.
The camp contains just
ten intimate, turn-of-the-century style cottages of local rock and
thatch. The rich wooden floors and serene, classic interiors are
reminiscent of the heydays of rugged safaris. Each spacious cottage has
an en suite bathroom. With showerheads the size of a dinner platter, our
spacious enclosed showers offer you the sensory equivalent of an indoor
cloud-burst. From each private terrace, a diversity of resident
wildlife, including elephant, may be viewed in the valley. Askaris
(Masai warrior guards) accompany you to and from your cottage at night.

Day 5 and 6
Transfer to Manyara airstrip and fly to Serengeti, lunch and
afternoon game activity. Overnight Grumeti River Camp.
Grumeti River Camp is an intimate
assemblage of just 10 private tents, each with an en-suite bathroom,
set in the shade of leafy branches. In this remote corner of the
Serengeti plains, solar panels have replaced electrical power to
eliminate noise and pollution. Here in the stillness, gourmet meals
are served in the central dining area and adjacent bar.
The main living areas,
including the pool, overlook the water lettuce-edged river. Wallow
the lazy hours away in our tempting plunge pool, relax in our lounge
and domed bar or wander through the curio shop. The spacious decks
are perfect for sundowners overlooking the river. Solar panels have
replaced electric power to eliminate noise and pollution. As
twilight nears, watch the mystery of the day reinvent itself.
Buildings come to life and shadows leap into wondrous shapes. Full
of promise and discovery, Grumeti is ideal for honeymooners or for
celebrating a special occasion.
At night, around a
starlit banquet, you can regale one another with stories of the
day's game sightings. Savor gourmet meals in our open-air boma
(enclosed reeded area) or nearby open-fronted dining area. Fusions
of sand and stone sparkle in the flickering boma firelight, merging
with the shape and moods of the land. We offer delicious Pan-African
cuisine - all meals at Grumeti are prepared on traditional "jikos"
(fires) and stone ovens. Private dinners may be arranged for special
occasions.
