Mfuwe Lodge is one of the few places in the South Luangwa National Park that stays open during the Green Season.

During this time the landscape in the valley changes into a lush green environment that attracts Wild Dogs as well as many species of migrating African and European birds.

Days 4, 5, 6 & 7: Lufupa Tented Camp, Kafue

Road transfer from Mfuwe Lodge to the airport for your flight to Lusaka (flight included) and connect to the Kafue National Park and Lufupa Tented Camp. It is located in one of Zambia's most significant wetland resources – The Busanga Plains - in the extreme north of the Kafue National Park. Immense herds of antelope create a wealth of game which is also a big attraction for predators, including wild dog, cheetah and prides of lion.

Wildlife is prolific with lion and a wide variety of plains game such as zebra, buffalo, greater kudu and impala, as well as the less-seen species of roan, sable antelope and Lichtenstein's hartebeest. Lufupa is renowned for good leopard sightings and elephant are often seen moving through the area. Kafue's birdlife is world-acclaimed, with the Lufupa area sporting well over 400 species - including Pel's Fishing-Owl, African Finfoot and Half-collared Kingfisher.

Activities include day and night nature drives exploring prime game viewing areas adjoining the Lufupa Channel. Boat trips also reveal the incredible hippo population of the area complemented by a constant array of colorful waterbirds, reptiles (Nile crocodile, water monitor, terrapins) and lush riverine vegetation. Guided nature walks are also on offer.

Day 8 & 9: Toka Leya Camp, Livingstone

Connect with your flight from Lufupa to Livingstone (included) and transfer by road to Toka Leya Camp. Within the western sector of the Mosi Oa Tunya National Park lies the camp close to Victoria Falls to take advantage of all the activities available in the adrenaline capital for the next two days.

The Victoria falls is one of the seven "Wonders of the World" and is arguably the greatest waterfall anywhere. Daily excursions to the Falls are a highlight and boating trips to the Zambezi River's islands provide wonderful activities.
Game drives into the Mosi-oa-Tunya Park are productive with an abundance of general game species like buffalo, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest and impala. There is rich birdlife here too, including several sought-after species such as African Finfoot, Half-collared Kingfisher, African Skimmer (seasonal), Schalow's Turaco and Rock Pratincole (seasonal). For bird enthusiasts there are leisurely strolls from camp, boat cruises and island walks.

The Zambezi River offers ample fishing opportunities and tiger fishing is an unforgettable challenge for keen fishermen, particularly during the warmer months. There are several varieties of bream (Tilapia) that are also a good catch. For the more sporting, try catching them on fly!
