Jacks Camp

Jacks Camp. They say that the Makgadikgadi Pans are one of the few places in the world 'where the silence is so complete you can hear the blood circulating through your ears'. It is in this stark moonscape that the legendary Jack Bousfield felt his soul stir and in setting up camp for the first time he set a safari ball rolling that has captured the imaginations of travellers ever since.

A member of the Uncharted Africa family of unique under canvas camps, Jack's Camp is situated in the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. Here, permanent canvas tents are set up to accommodate a small group of guests (a maximum of 14) at any one time.

Dressed in the style of colonial safari days, complete with Persian rugs, opulent antique furniture and a host of comfortable details that are five star in every way tents include en suite bathrooms and views over the magnificent surrounds.
In keeping with the camp's famed attention to detail, meals here are gourmet, silver service affairs while there are fascinating extras including a natural history museum, library and for cooling off - a plunge pool.

Spend days getting up close and personal with the camp's local family of meerkats, spend time with bushmen trackers, visit the third largest Baobab in Africa and most importantly, spend time with yourselves in one of the most extraordinarily beautiful and moving places on the planet. Jack's Camp has won numerous international travel and hotel awards and can also accommodate families travelling with children.

For a chance to experience untold luxury in the middle of nowhere, a place where time stands still, Jack's Camp is it. Five generations of pioneering in the wilderness areas of Africa has resulted in the likes of this extraordinary African escape.
