    Popular Uganda Tours

In the heart of the African continent lies the "Pearl of Africa" Uganda. Small by African standards, Uganda is about the size of Great Britain. Completely landlocked, it is a fascinating country with a variety of diverse environments and animals. The most famous of these is the rare and endangered Mountain Gorilla. A Gorilla Trekking Safari in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is the main attraction in Uganda.

If you are short on time then try our 4 Day Uganda Safari which showcases these amazing creatures. If you have time and would like to explore this remarkable area, have a look at our Classic Uganda and Rwanda Itinerary.

Although a huge highlight, Uganda is not just about Gorillas. It has some of the most untouched Reserves and Parks in Africa. Spend time in the Queen Elizabeth National Park, or at Murchison Falls National Park. Bird life is stunning. Chimpanzee trekking is another of the primate highlights.
There are three mountain ranges the Rwenzoris (Mountains of the Moon), Mt Elgon and the Virunga Volcanoes. All provide incredible hiking opportunities for those with an adventurous spirit. Lake Victoria is the largest tropical lake in the world. Game viewing, white water rafting on the Nile and the local culture adds to the diversity of Uganda.

Uganda is relatively new on the African tourist agenda. We have handpicked some super accommodation options. Luxury accommodation like Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp is the only lodge inside the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Park. Loose yourself in the forest from your bathtub! The Bwindi Safari Lodge is an eco-lodge overlooking the forest.
Uganda is 1,000m above sea level, so although an equatorial climate, the climate is not uniform due to the altitude. From the mountains to the forests to the lakes, the climate can vary so consult an expert or have a look at our tips and information page.

    Gorilla Forest Camp

Deep inside southwest Ugandas Bwindi Impenetrable Forest - a UNESCO World Heritage Site - lies Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp. Its the only camp within Bwindi National Park, which is home to more than half of the worlds last surviving population of mountain gorillas. Seeing these gentle African giants in their natural habitat is a rare treat as only eight visitors are allowed to view each group of mountain gorillas per day.

    Volcanoes Bwindi Lodge

Overlooking the mesmerising Bwindi forest, where primates like gorillas, monkeys and chimpanzees roam free, Volcanoes Bwindi Lodge has an enviable location in one of the most biologically diverse areas in Africa, and on earth. Here, tracking mountain gorillas in the impenetrable forest provides guests with magical memories, and some of these gentle creatures even visit the camp on a regular basis.

    Ngamba Island Camp

As part of the Koome group of islands, which are located on Lake Victoria in Uganda, Ngamba Island spans about 100 acres, of which 98 are forested and separated from the camp area. Opened to visitors in 1999, the island is home to some 40 orphaned chimpanzees, of which half were rescued and brought to the island. This means that Ngamba Island Tented Camp provides one of Africa's most unique opportunities to get up close and personal with these fascinating animals.

    Ndali Lodge

Set in the stunning Bunyaruguru Crater lake region of western Uganda, Ndali Lodge is nestled in a prime stretch of this country which is known as the "Cradle of the Nile". As one of Africa's most prolific wildlife enclaves, Uganda has an immense variety of fauna and flora, and spectacular scenery to boot. Ndali Lodge is at the heart of 1 000 acres of privately owned fertile farmland which is still cultivated according to traditional methods.
