Gorilla Forest Camp
Deep inside southwest Ugandas Bwindi Impenetrable Forest - a UNESCO World Heritage Site - lies Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp. Its the only camp within Bwindi National Park, which is home to more than half of the worlds last surviving population of mountain gorillas. Seeing these gentle African giants in their natural habitat is a rare treat as only eight visitors are allowed to view each group of mountain gorillas per day.
As the perfect base for tracking excursions deep into the heart of the rainforest, Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp is one of the continents most remote and charming destinations. Consisting of eight luxurious guest tents, every creature comfort is catered for and each of the spacious en-suite units feature two queen-size beds and a bathtub with ample views of the forest - the ultimate way to soothe tired muscles after a day of tracking in the jungle. Wooden floors and decks support the tents and the main areas raised platform is perfect for open-air dinners. It's not uncommon for guests to spend hours huddled around the camp's cosy campfire while getting lost in the beauty of Bwindis exceptionally clear night skies.
