Ol Tukai Lodge

Each of the 80 ultra-comfortable, chalet-style bedrooms at Ol Tukai Lodge enjoys a breathtaking, uninterrupted view of Mount Kilimanjaro or Amboselis wetlands and blends traditionally open African style with modern convenience. Built from gum trees, local river stone and slate, the charming en-suite rooms, all with private terraces, are spread out on rolling lawns in the lovingly maintained, bird-filled gardens.

The beautifully appointed rooms are evidence of meticulous attention to detail. The Ol Tukai Dining Room opens onto a veranda, where lunch is usually served just metres away from the elephants that are often close to the camp boundary. For an especially memorable meal, enjoy a candlelit bush dinner, entertained by Masai Mara warriors performing traditional battle songs around the campfire.

Amboseli National Park is home to large populations of elephant, lion, buffalo, cheetah, leopard, giraffe and gazelle, which can be spotted on morning and afternoon game drives led by a trained driver-guide in one of the 4x4 safari vehicles.
Ol Tukai and the park host up to 400 bird species, and birdwatchers find the specially designed bird walk especially rewarding. In between game drives, guests can relax by the swimming pool under the shade of acacia trees, read a book from the well-stocked library or listen to a lecture on wildlife issues by speakers from the Elephant Research Station.

The open-air Elephant Bar offers panoramic views of the marshlands and Kilimanjaro and guests sipping a drink are often rewarded with the sight elephants frolicking in the wetlands.

With its laid-back luxe, perfect location in the heart of the Amboseli National Park and abundant wildlife, Ol Tukai Lodge captures the very essence of an East African safari.
