    Masai Mara

    Masai Mara

This iconic Masai Mara is found in South West Kenya and is the northern continuation of the Serengeti in Tanzania. Completely unfenced, animals roam freely between the Masai Mara and the Serengeti. The Masai Mara is famous for its unbelievable wildlife viewing. This includes the Big 5 and of course the annual migration of wildebeest, zebra and gazelles from the Serengeti Plains known as the Great Migration. This usually occurs between July and October. Chat to a consultant for the best advice or visit the best time to go to make sure you don't miss the spectacular show.

Even if you can't make your holiday around the Migration the Masai Mara  teems with wildlife whenever you go. The endless rolling grass plains dotted with acacia trees makes the wildlife easy to see. The permanent water source of the Mara River keeps the animals there.
The Masai Mara offers a huge range or tours and safaris. From long stays to fly-in safaris, from family friendly to romantic African Honeymoons.

One of the Masai Mara Reserves that has been around the longest it is not surprising there is such an array of accommodation. You can find intimate luxury camps like Mara Plains, traditional tented luxury at Cottars 1920's Safari Camp, romance at &Beyonds Kichwa Tembo Bateleur Camp, family friendly lodges like Mara Intrepids Camp and exclusive river view lodges like Sanctuary Olonana.

The Masai Mara is a destination that you can fly-in for a 3 day African safari if your time is limited. Or you can take some time and enjoy all the countries highlights with a Bush and Beach Holiday. If it is just the Great Migration that you are looking to witness it is recommended that you chat to a consultant for the best advice. Like in Tanzania, the Migration is dictated by the rains!
