  • Kicheche Bush Camp

Comfortably furnished, the traditional canvas tents make wilderness living into an art. Camping here is not roughing it: double beds made up with soft linen, ensuite bathrooms, flushing toilets and old-style safari showers are contained in an insect proof tent, with flaps that can be let down to let in the moonlight and sounds of the African night.

Excellent meals, freshly cooked, newly-baked breads and pastries, bush picnics laid out at strategic viewing points in the middle of a game drive, support appetites enhanced by the fresh air and activity. Gathering around the camp fire with the friendly hosts after a day spent in the bush is truly magical with a sense of being part of the family even if only for a short time.

Guides are professionally trained and sensitive both to the needs of the animals and of the guests.
Experienced in the needs of photographers, they position the vehicles in the best position and vantage point for unparalleled photo opportunities. Keen photographers can request platform attachments or bean bags to support long lenses on the sides of the open vehicles.

The uncrowded expanse of this conservancy means that guests scarcely see another vehicle and can enjoy the spectacle of a lion kill, cheetah and cubs or a majestic river crossing of wildebeest undisturbed by others. The elusive leopard is often sighted here and bush walks bring a new perspective, seeing hyenas up close or looking up at towering giraffe, safely escorted by ranger and guide. The spirit of the Masai Mara is easy to discover in these idyllic surroundings.

For the ultimate safari adventure, walk out to overnight in a Kicheche fly-camp pitched in the bush, escorted by guide and armed ranger, giving a new perspective on life away from it all in the heart of Africa.
