Kinondo Kwetu

Kinondo Kwetu. Intimate and exclusive, the resort accommodates only 38 guests at a time - making it not only suitable for couples who want to escape the crowds, but also for families and friends seeking an exceptional venue for a private celebration or a wedding.

Offering two separate kitchens in different buildings, it is entirely possible for groups of 10-20 or 30-40 to book a whole wing, or the whole resort. Each and every room and cottage on the premises has its own personalised character and is tastefully furnished and decorated with Swahili handcraft and antiques.

While all rooms are fitted with fans and mosquito nets, all double rooms also boast king-size beds. Kinondo Kwetu is well known for its excellent cuisine, which is made from locally sourced fresh ingredients - and locally caught, fresh fish and seafood are of course consistent favourites on the menu.
Activities abound around here and the choice ranges from scuba diving to snorkelling, deep-sea fishing or even kiteboarding - an exhilarating and eco-friendly sport perfectly suited for the southern coast of Kenya.

Featuring its own PADI centre, beginner divers can also opt for obtaining their diving certificate at Kinondo Kwetu, thanks to the expert hands on deck who will teach you all the ropes of this exciting sport. Sailing enthusiast will be delighted to hear that the variety of small Kenyan outriggers will provide hours of fun, and the regular cruises on one of the traditional dhows - especially at sunset - are not-to-be-missed treats. Other activities available include horseback riding, river island excursions and the nearby Shimba Hills National Park, where elephants, giraffes, buffalos and various types of antelope are just some of the treats in store.

Ideally, one should do absolutely nothing while basking in the beauty of Kinondo Kwetu, but for the actively inclined, there's plenty of adventures to be had on this vast East African reef.
