Kruger Park

Situated in the Limpopo Province, adjacent to the world famous Kruger National Park is the 11,500 hectare privately owned Thornybush Game Reserve. A fenced reserve that covers a vast amount of bushveld, the wildlife viewing opportunities are massive. The Big 5 roam freely here along with many species of mammals and birds. Game drives depart every morning and evening giving you ample opportunity to spot something prowling in the bushes!

Accommodation in the Reserve is varied so you are bound to find something to suit the Safari experience you desire. There is a fantastic family option in the Thornybush Main Lodge. Set on the river bank you can enjoy breakfast while the kids count the monkeys playing in the trees. For true romance and a taste of colonial style, the Royal Malewane has been eyed out by celebrities too. If you are looking to get a little closer to nature Chapungu Tented Camp, with its canvas walls, makes those night calls all the louder!
You are never short of ideas or activities while on Safari and Thornybush is no exception. The luxury lodges all have cool swimming pools. Some suites have the privacy of their own plunge pool while some of the lodges will have a larger pool in the communal area. You can idle away the afternoon relaxing, reading or watching the activity unfold in front of you. If you need to stretch your legs certain lodges will arrange walking safaris. The thrill of being "out in the open" with the Big 5 gets the heart racing!

Guiding and tracking in Thornybush is excellent and you are bound to return home with a fountain of knowledge. Learning about and tracking the Big Game is awesome! But sometimes it can be the understanding of the small things that really top your African Safari!
