Waterbuck Lodge

Set in the southern part of the Thornybush Nature Reserve, Waterbuck Lodge enjoys a stunning location adjacent to a water estuary. This accounts for the extraordinary diversity of wildlife found in the vicinity of the camp. Positioned alongside the world-famous Greater Kruger National Park, the extraordinary wildlife diversity around Waterbuck Lodge gets maximum exposure thanks to the closely located watering hole and estuary.

Centralised entertaining areas like the sparkling pool and outdoor bar provide the perfect backdrop for catching up on reading - or even to get some colour on the tanning deck. And as far as privacy is concerned, the lodge's four air-conditioned luxury suites are accessed through pathways, and each unit is spoilt with an array of views - even from the bathrooms. Generous dressing rooms and en-suite amenities ensure comfort and convenience, while outdoor showers add to the allure... Nothing beats a late-night shower while catching sight of wildlife in the valley below.
Waterbuck Lodge offers unique and exclusive safari experiences in both open Land Rovers and on foot. With more than 147 kinds of mammals - including the Big 5, 114 reptile species, 507 types of birds and even 49 fish and 34 amphibian species, the area pretty much resembles the Garden of Eden.

The reserve is predominantly characterised by open stretches of sprawling savannah plains, which - coupled with the idyllic climate - means it's the perfect year-round safari destination. Popular daytime excursions at Waterbuck Lodge range from a Panorama Tour and visiting a Cheetah Breeding Project while night-drives provide a true sense of African safari encounters.

Waterbuck Lodge is child-friendly and can accommodate children between the ages of 2 and 11 years on request, at approximately half the adult rate.
