You will feel the Atlantic, sometimes before you even see it - and it is a welcome cool touch to the harsh desert climate in Sossusvlei. You have 2 nights to explore this German inspired town perched on the edge of the desert.

Swakopmund has a huge array of activities available and having the Atlantic on its doorstep is an added bonus. You can take fun trips into the surrounding desert, you can enjoy trips on the Ocean looking for the whales and dolphins that inhabit the cold waters or you can enjoy the architecture and history that this little town holds.

Leaving the cool waters of the Atlantic behind you today's drive takes you to Damaraland. This is a beautiful but unforgiving part of the country occupying a huge stretch of landscape in the North West. Everything here as adapted to the harsh conditions - the wildlife and the people.

You have 3 nights to explore this vast landscape and meet some of its local inhabitants. Searching for the desert adapted elephants is a definite highlight as well as the insight and understanding gained from the prehistoric rock art of the area.

Morning and evening drives, walking, vegetation, and geology, huge open African skies, millions of stars - this is a wilderness like none other.

You leave this amazing place behind and head up to the salt pans of Etosha National Park. Enjoy a 2 night stay at Andersson's Camp which is in the Ongava Reserve. This is a private concession bordering the Etosha National Park, with its own concentration of wildlife for day and night game drives.

Day trips into Etosha can be arranged. Africa's largest salt pan is a hive of activity and plenty of waterholes allow for excellent wildlife viewing. The vast endless plains make seeing the animals much easier.
