  • Anderssons Camp

Set against the backdrop of the low Ondundozonanandana Mountains, Anderssons was named after Charles Andersson, a Swedish explorer credited for discovering Etosha Pan with Sir Francis Galton in 1851.

The camp comprises a former farmstead, which has been revamped forming the main area, with 20 luxury tents (16 twin tents and 2 family tents) providing plush accommodation. Combining calcrete stone cladding, canvas and wood, each unit includes a double-door entrance (to optimise views) and a veranda. All the tents are tastefully decorated, are built on elevated wooden decks and have en-suite bathrooms as well as open-air showers.

The family unit consists of two generously sized tents connected by a boardwalk. Nestled in secluded woodlands and surrounded by scrub-covered plains Anderssons Camp reveals an authentic natural experience.  The renovated farmstead forms the main hub of the camp, and it is here where visitors can while away hours watching the rich diversity of game that regularly visits the nearby waterhole to drink.
There are several lounge areas scattered throughout the farmhouse - complete with comfy sofas and seating areas - ensuring that visitors can relax while they in turn drink in the magnificent bushveld atmosphere. In terms of eco-friendly initiatives, the camp has introduced several energy-saving initiatives, including solar-heated water for showers.

Thanks to Anderssons proximity to Etosha (4.5 from the western gate) - guests can choose between self-drive or guided day trips to the park, where large herds of plains game gather around waterholes in the dry season, and where an abundance of newborn animals - from springbok to wildebeest - can be seen during the rainy summer season.

Offering good value - especially for independent travellers and families on self-drive trips - Anderssons is the perfect base from which to explore the wonderful wildlife in Etosha National Park.
