You start your vacation once you fly into Kilimanjaro Airport where you have a chance of glimpsing this mighty peak from your aircraft or once you land. Transfer to Arusha airstrip where you will take a charter flight into the Serengeti.
Your first taste of an African Safari and the endless Serengeti Plains starts here. A flight into camp gives you a great idea of the area you will be in for the next 3 nights. With its vast treeless plains the Serengeti is famed for its wildlife sightings and Big Game. Every year the annual migration passes through the Grumeti River and hundreds upon thousands of wildebeest, zebra and other herbivores risk the jaws of crocodiles to get to the other side.
Grumeti Tented Camp is poised for this crossing. On the river's edge under tall evergreen trees this is a wild and remote experience. Luxury safari tents with delightful interiors and al fresco showers, are your home for the show that will take place through the river and on the vast plains.
Due to flight connections and crossing borders you will need to spend a night in Nairobi before you get to the plains of the Masai Mara. You will be transferred from the airport to the Tribes Hotel.

This morning you will transfer to the airport for your flight into the Masai Mara. Flying into camp again makes for a fantastic view over the Mara plains - famous for massed herds forming the Great Migration, plenty of resident game and also Africa's Big 5. Birds are also prolific in this vast National Park making it one of the ultimate Safari destinations.
Kichwa Tembo Camp lies in a private concession in the Western Mara and is directly in the path of the Great Migration. The resident game makes up everything you want to see when you are on Safari - from Lion and Cheetah to Hippo's, Elephant and Giraffe - not to mention all the small things inbetween and the massive grazing herds of antelope. This is one of the richest and most diverse wildlife areas in the world.
