  • Olakira Camp

The Olakira Camp is a mobile-tented camp that follows the Great Migration as it moves through the Serengeti. From December until the end of March the camp situates itself in the Ndutu area of the southern Serengeti. It is in this region that the wildebeest migration pauses to calve.

The camp moves to the northern Serengeti from June to December, settling at a site on the Mara River, in time to witness the Great Migration relocating. Olakira's philosophy is to move wherever the action is and this adage lands guests in the thick of the Serengeti National Park's action. If not on your doorstep, the wildlife is typically moments away and the nomadic nature of the Olakira Camp ensures an abundance of game. Game drives last half a day, or a full day with a bush picnic. Olakira Camp also arranges private meals in the bush for diners intent on being uncompromisingly close to nature.
The camp itself consists of 8 fully furnished and en suite guest tents and 2 large tents used for dining and lounging. Each tent is carefully arranged to provide guests with stunning views from a private veranda and plumbed to ensure ablutions are environmentally friendly.
If required, large groups can arrange to have one of the large tents designated as an exclusive tent for their group, leaving the second tent the domain of the other guests.

Food and dining is of the highest order and the camps intimate atmosphere is further enhanced by the attentive service, nightly campfires and the immediate proximity to the African bush.

Olakira Camp is designed to provide an authentic Africa safari experience at the scene of the Serengeti action, securing a private location on the banks of the Mara river in 2010 has further enhanced this mobile camp's reputation for delivering breathtaking wildlife experiences on a year round basis, following the Great Migration across the Serengeti National Park.
