    Wilderness Adventures

When Wilderness Safaris was a young start-up conservation organisation back in the early 80s, the original pioneers of Wilderness Safaris established tented camps in prime sites in collaboration with local communities. Today they operate a wide selection of adventure camps across Southern Africa where the safari experience has retained its 'back to basics' feel and the emphasis is on spending quality time in touch with nature, participating in camp life and learning from the local communities.

The aim of Wilderness Adventures is to provide an alternative range of affordable camps and lodges suitable for the more adventurous traveler, namely families and the young at heart. The emphasis is on authenticity in a relaxed friendly environment with an educational, exploratory angle which nature lovers will appreciate. Wilderness Adventures has a strong association with the local communities and guests will be able to see "sustainable conservation through responsible tourism" in action.
The camps themselves are larger than the more exclusive Wilderness Camps, and the en-suite canvas tents are smaller. But the overall experience, hospitality of the staff, the wholesome bush cuisine, the campfire stories and the unique natural surrounding ensure that guests have an unforgettable wilderness experience.

All their camps are located in unique wildlife habitats and are sensitively constructed. They are proud of the fact that Kalahari Plains Camp and Banoka Bush Camp are 100% solar powered. Wilderness Adventures operate in Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, Malawi and Zimbabwe.

Our African Safari Consultants have been incredibly privileged to visit almost all of the Wilderness Safaris camps and are able to advise you on seasonality, accessibility, luxury levels, how to combine the different camps and eco-systems and get the most out of your African Safari.

    Andersons Camp

Located a mere stone's throw from Etosha National Park, Andersson's Camp boasts sweeping views of waterholes, luxuriously appointed accommodation and an eco-sensitive attitude. As a premier wildlife destination, which is roughly the size of Switzerland, Etosha is a must on every visitor to Namibia's itinerary - with large herds of wild animals concentrating near the many waterholes in these African plains.

    Kulala Wilderness Camp

Situated in the Namib Desert on the 37 000-hectare private Kulala Wilderness Reserve, Kulala Wilderness Camp is a favourite luxury base from which to explore the magnificent dunes at Sossusvlei. With views over a tranquil valley and set against rugged mountains, the Camp boasts some of the best sunsets around. Private and exclusive, Kulala Wilderness Camp is ideal for the discerning traveller.

    Doro Nawas Camp

Doro Nawas Camp is in the ruggedly beautiful and arid Aba-Huab River Valley, within the Doro!Nawas Conservancy in central Damaraland in northwestern Namibia. The main part of the camp is perched on top of a rocky knoll with dramatic views of the Etendeka Mountains in the north and the red sandstone cliffs of Twyfelfontein in the south.
