Kuyenda Bush Camp

In terms of the accommodation at Kuyenda Bush Camp, four-poster beds are at the centre of each of the stilted tree houses, and often, you can watch animals roam past from the comfort of your bed. Furthermore, the fact that there are just four of these stilted chalets at this exclusive camp means that it's bush privacy at its best.

Three of these chalets have views of the Manzi River bed from large mesh-covered windows, while the fourth one is located away from the rest, and nestles next to an open plain which is often frequented by herds of impala and puku - and sometimes even by buffalo and elephant. At the back of each chalet is an open-air bathroom with a flush toilet, twin basins and a bucket shower (hot water is brought to you on request).

Although activities at Kuyenda include day and night game drives, the main focus is on the various walking safaris around the camp.
Hikes can be done through open plains with quicksand bogs to palm islands, all along the banks of the Luangwa River, and even to salt springs.

The camp's central area is all about simplicity, while offering everything you need to enjoy the charms of the surrounding bushveld. A thatched area houses a bar, a lounge with comfortable deckchair-style chairs and a dining area, while a portable washstand and canvas basin is thoughtfully included so that guests can wash up before joining the chatter at the campfire with the tempting smells of dinner cooking nearby. The small library is quite a gem and has numerous books about the area.

Including various picturesque sundowner spots, fresh and home-cooked meals, spectacular African sunsets and an abundance of wildlife means every day is filled with new experiences and wonders at Kuyenda.
