Livingstone has become known as the adrenalin capital of Southern Africa. Transfer from Livingstone to the remote Kafue National Park. This is one of the largest Parks in Africa. Wild and diverse landscape is what greets you when you arrive. The Busanga Bush Camp in the north west of the park is you first destination.
Spend 3 nights in this intimate camp that accommodates only 8 guests at a time. The tents are en-suite and have indoor and outdoor showers. The Zambian climate allows for great outdoor eating and the camp has spectacular views onto the Busanga Plains beyond.
Herds of plains game dominate this landscape, and game viewing happens day and night, with walking a great alternative if you wish to stretch your legs. All activities are lead by qualified guides. Birding is also a huge attraction in the area.
Today you will transfer to the southern area of Kafue National Park. This region is quite different to the plains and swamps that you have left behind in the Busanga area.
Lafupa River Camp has a tranquil setting overlooking the Kafue River and Lufupa Channel. Seven en-suite tents make up this camp where you will be based for a 3 night stay.
The river life and water ways calls for fantastic birding, especially water loving species. Game in the area is diverse and this includes frequent sightings of lion and leopard. With the banks of the river on your doorstep hippo emerge at twilight from deep water channels to enjoy the night grazing.
Today transfer out of the Kafue National Park to Lusaka. From Lusaka you will board a local flight to Mfuwe International Airport. Enjoy a leisurely game drive transfer to camp.
The Luamfwa Concession is a remote concession in a southern area of the park, which means the volume of visitors is minimal. The area is rich in game, with plenty of antelope and of course the big predators that follow. Lion, hyena and crocodiles make up the big game, with plenty of action happening around the river, especially at the end of the dry season, when water becomes scarce.
Kalamu Lagoon where you are based for your 4 night stay is set just off the Luangwa River on a permanent lagoon. Eight safari-style reed and canvas tents with en-suite bathrooms and indoor and outdoor showers make up the intimate camp. The climate in Zambia makes for great outdoor setting and the giant ebony trees and pool take away some of the heat when you are at camp.
You can enjoy game drives morning and evening from camp or the South Luangwa Park is known as one of the best walking destinations in Africa. Stretch your legs and get to really see how nature works on an expertly guided walking safari.
