Islands of Siankaba

Each of the six chalets at the Islands of Siankaba has been built with teak and custom-made canvas and the suites are raised above ground level in a canopy of trees. They have idyllic balconies extending over the river, ensuring that guests can while away hours basking in the natural surrounds and even spotting some wildlife visiting the water.

Guests can choose between twin and double bed options, and an air of luxury pervades all the rooms with high-quality imported fittings complementing the rustic charm of the natural materials used in the construction of the chalets. Opulent furnishing and finishes abound, such as mosquito netting and ceiling fans in the bedrooms, while in the lavish en-suite bathrooms, guests are treated to ball-and-claw baths and separate showers. The chalets are linked to the excellent restaurant with a footbridge.

Thanks to the winding walkways at the lodge, guests do not actually walk on the surface of the Islands of Siankaba - protecting the vulnerable and unspoilt fauna and flora in this riverine setting.
A range of activities is on offer here and includes sunset boat cruises and canoe trips on makoros (the local dugout canoes) to local villages nearby.

The privately owned islands provide a pristine sense of privacy and tranquillity, while adrenaline-inducing whiteriver rafting and bungee jumping trips are a hop, skip and a jump away in nearby Livingstone. For those who prefer a less frenetic holiday and want to spend quality time in pristine wilderness, guided birding and tree walks on the main island are highlights here, and visitors can look forward to spotting rare treats such as the African Finfoot, the Pygmy Kingfisher and the White Backed Night Heron.

Untouched and set on spectacular islands in the middle of this majestic river, and close to "Seventh Wonder of the Natural World" - Victoria Falls - this lodge offers exceptional natural encounters in a breathtaking setting.
