The tented Elephant Pepper Camp comprises just eight spacious tents with plush beds, mosquito nets, vibrantly coloured and patterned carpets and bedspreads, and en-suite bathrooms equipped with modern facilities. The camps piece de resistance is its honeymoon suite tent, featuring a large porch, private campfire area and roomy interior kitted with a range of creature comforts. Elephant Pepper Camp’s size ensures guests receive personal attention and enjoy an authentic Kenyan safari experience.

Located in a 3600 square kilometre conservation region close to the renowned Masai Mara National Park, the camp is perfectly positioned to see one of the planet’s most awe-inspiring phenomena – the Great Migration, described as ‘the greatest wildlife show on earth’.

Each year, as the summer sun strips the Serengeti plains of their moisture, hundreds of thousands of wildebeest make their way north in search of greener pastures, accompanied by zebra, gazelle and other migratory grazers, and followed by a menagerie of predators for which this annual movement presents a bountiful food source.

Elephant Pepper offers both dawn and dusk game drives, with morning safari trips followed by optional bush breakfasts, while evening drives take in the magnificent spectacle of the sun setting over the Mara. Guests can also opt for night drives, which reveal an entirely different set of animals – those that emerge only once the bright light of day has melted into darkness.

A visit to Elephant Pepper also affords travellers the unique opportunity to interact with members of the Masai community, who have lived in the region for centuries and still follow a traditional way of life, living close to the land and dressing in vibrant traditional garb and intricate beaded jewellery. Roughly half of the staff at Elephant Pepper are Masai and their remarkable knowledge of the local wilderness and its animals provide valuble insights into the region.
