Day 1 : Elsa's Kopje
On arrival in Jomo Kenyatta Airport you will be met and transferred to Nairobi’s Wilson Airport to connect to the early morning flight to Meru. Transferred to the lodge, with game viewing en-route. Elsa’s Kopie almost has the whole Meru National Park to itself. The park boasts an impressive variety of vegetation, landscape and wildlife.
Day 2 : Elsa's Kopje
The park incorporates a Rhino Sanctuary which is home to over 40 white rhino and 20 black rhino. Made famous by the bestselling book and award winning movie, Born Free, this was home to conservationist Joy Adamson and where Elsa the Lioness was raised. Elsa’s Kopje has 8 elegant rooms in a spectacular setting.
Day 3 : Elsa's Kopje
Enjoy the activities of the area and relax into the African Bush. Day and night game drives, bush walks with experienced guides, bush meals and stunning locations for sundowners are part of the experience that has made this one of the “Best Safari Properties in Africa”.
Day 4 : Joy's Camp
After breakfast you will be transferred to the airstrip for the scheduled flight into Samburu. On arrival in Samburu you will be met and transferred to Joy’s Camp. This is where Joy Adamson wrote Born Free. It is in Shaba National Reserve in the eastern corner of the Samburu. Secluded and far from the busy part of the park.
Day 5 : Joy's Camp
There are only 10 tents. decorated in a tribal chic style reflecting the local nomadic tribes, each tent has a private veranda, perfect for game viewing and soaking up African scenery. Enjoy game drives, walks, bush breakfasts and sundowners with highly experienced guides. Meet the nomadic Boran people.
Day 6 : Joy's Camp
The Samburu hosts a variety of animal and birdlife of which some species are said to be unique to the region. All 3 big cats, Lion, Leopard and Cheetah can be found here as well as other big mammals like elephant, hippo and buffalo. Reticulated giraffe, Oryx and Grevy’s Zebra also use the waterholes. The local people are important in this area and the Samburu guides will share their heritage and traditions.
Day 7 : Elephant Pepper Camp
After breakfast transfer to the airstrip for your scheduled flight to the Masai Mara. A guide from the Camp will meet you at the airstrip and transfer you to camp with game viewing in the vast Mara en-route. A small and exclusive camp, Elephant Pepper has just 8 luxury tents and is located away from other lodges in the Northern Masai Mara.
Day 8 : Elephant Pepper Camp
The canvas tents are spacious. They have en-suite bathrooms, eco-friendly flush toilets and traditional safari showers. The Masai Mara is well known for its excellent wildlife sightings and includes Africa’s Big 5. It is also home to the Great Migration of wildebeest, zebra and other plains game, who follow the rains into the Serengeti.
Day 9 : Elephant Pepper Camp
At Elephant Pepper you get to enjoy day and night game drives with highly qualified guides. You can also stretch your legs on a guided bush walk and you never know what you could encounter. Bush breakfasts and spectacular sundowners from perfect viewpoints are also part of the daily life in the heart of the African Bush.
