Also conjuring up the nostalgic spirit of safaris from days gone by is the absence of electricity in the Nottens Bush Camp suites, with candles and lanterns providing light so as not to compete with the stars.
Guests congregate in an open-plan lounge and on the deck overlooking a watering hole, the bar and wine cellar, communal pool and, at night, in the boma for delicious three-course meals infused with traditional flavours.
A spa treatment preceding a late-afternoon high tea/lunch is a wonderful way to indulge yourself at Nottens Bush Camp. The main event is, of course, the game viewing. Twice-daily bush drives by experience rangers and optional walking safaris deliver a million Kodak moments. A cultural tour can also be arranged to a local Shangaan village.

This active couple thoroughly enjoyed their African honeymoon which took them from Big Five territory in the Sabi Sands, up to Victoria Falls, out into the Cape Winelands, sight seeing in Cape Town with a final stopover in Johannesburg.

This honeymoon couple loves their African honeymoon. It was well paced with not too much travelling. They combined a Big Five Safari at two safari camps in South Africa’s Kruger region with barefoot luxury time on an island of the coast of Southern Mozambique.
Family Adventure : Cape Town, Rovos Rail, Sabi Sands, Vic Falls and Botswana
This US family with young adult kids had a ball on their trip which started in Cape Town with the amazing Charlie as their guide. Then they took Rovos Rail (possibly a bit too stuffy for the kids?) north to their safari at Nottens (one of our favourite camps in the Sabi Sands.) They then flew to Victoria Falls in Zambia and then onto another safari in Botswana’s Chobe National Park and Okavango Delta.
