Hi Ilze-

The trip was amazing! Thank you for all you help planning it, everything went very smoothly. We had no complaints but I will try to give you my thoughts for your own benefit.

We thought the first camp, Simbavati, was very good and very peaceful with having your own elevated huts (not connected to anyone else’s room, large private deck and day bed, outdoor shower). The only reason I wouldn’t say it was “great” is because our 2nd camp, Lion Sands, was certainly a step up in luxury, accommodations and service. We were glad to be doing the camps in this order as we may have been a little disappointed if our 2nd camp was Simbavati. Lion Sands made us spoiled I guess! All in all we enjoyed both very much and welcomed the differences. Simbavati felt more like camping since the huts were not bug proof and it was more exposed to large wildlife which brought extra excitement. One minor complaint of Simbavati would be that lunch was always a buffet and it was served in open air immediately taken over by flies. Could easily improve their setup with a bug net or something as it was unappetizing. Saw the Big 5 and much more at both camps.

On to Cape Town. Amazing city, had so much fun hiking and dining and driving around. Table Bay Hotel was really perfect for us. The complimentary breakfasts were awesome and very helpful before rushing out to see the sights. Loved having a rental car for the Cape Point drive.

Could probably write about it all forever but will save you. Thanks again for an amazing trip, it was a perfect honeymoon!

I’ll be sure to recommend you to anyone who is thinking of going

Mike and Kelley
