African Safari Consultants

A wild and spectacular destination, Zambia today is pristine African wilderness! It is a landlocked country that has recently started finding itself on the international visitor’s itinerary. With thousands of square miles of bushveld and 19 National Parks it is a premier Safari and big game viewing destination. River cruises and activities in the Lower Zambezi, walking safaris in the South Luangwa, and game drives in the Kafue, amazing opportunities for tracking Big Game!

Zambia has another major attraction in Victoria Falls. With the chaos in neighbouring Zimbabwe over the years, Livingstone has developed a huge following and the title of adrenaline capital! Witnessing this one mile wide sheet of water thundering and cascading into the massive gorge below is a spectacular experience! Known locally as “Mosi-oa-Tunya” the Smoke that Thunders, a “Flight of the Angels” helicopter trip truly emphasises this World Heritage Site.

Zambia has a network of accommodation options ranging from upmarket family friendly safari houses, to super luxurious bush retreats. Rustic 5 star bush camps while on Walking Safaris, or 5 star bush chic at Sausage Tree Camp on the banks of the Lower Zambezi. One of our preferred partners Wilderness Safaris operates luxury tented bush camps in the Kafue, South Luangwa and Victoria Falls regions. Zambia is also the ultimate African Honeymoon destination with packages including Victoria Falls and an African safari.

There is a distinct rainy season in Zambia over the summer months (November to March) where many of the bush camps do close as water levels rise. Expert advice on travel in this country is recommended. The road network is limited and flying is the way to travel around as distances are vast. A browse through some of our suggested itineraries will bring on the African safari travel desire!
