Part of the Natural Selection group of sustainable safari lodges, Hyena Pan is an exclusive and tranquil tented camp situated in Botswana’s vast Khwai Private Reserve bordering some of this country’s finest wildlife reserves including the Chobe National Park in the east, and the Moremi Game Reserve in the south. Stretching over more than 200,000 hectares, this wild and largely untouched area was a hunting concession until 2013 when hunting was made illegal in Botswana’s protected areas. The Natural Selection properties pride themselves on offering extraordinary safari experiences that conserve Africa’s diverse wildlife with the help of local communities, as well as showcase this incredible part of Africa by offering thrilling photographic safaris.

The camp comprises of eight rustic, yet elegantly furnished tents with modern en suite facilities that are almost entirely run on solar power, except for the gas generated showers. Hyena Pan lies nestled amidst shady mopane trees with sweeping views across a natural pan that boasts a steady source of water for the abundant wildlife that congregates here all year round. Observe snorting hippos wallow in the pan and herds of elephant and buffalo come here to quench their thirst and play in the shallow waters. There are also many species of birds that come here to drink and the camp offers plenty of activities such as daily game and night drives, as well as walking and photographic safaris to experience the wildlife up close. Or you can simply relax in the turquoise waters of the rim-flow splash pool with an ice-cold cocktail as the wildlife comes to you.

Located in the heart of where the wild things roam, Hyena Pan offers guests a unique safari experience that combines exclusivity with incredibly diverse wildlife encounters. The camp is all about showcasing and protecting the many different species of wildlife that call this remarkable corner of Botswana their home.
