Lake Manyara National Park is a small park in the Arusha Tanzania safari Region and is dominated by the alkaline Lake Manyara. This beautiful lake is the seasonal home to around three million migratory lesser and greater pink flamingoes. The flamingoes and unusual tree climbing lions, are what has made this National Park famous! Lake Manyara is one of four lakes within the Great Rift Valley.

The Reserve is an ecologically diverse area. It supports herds of plains game, predators including leopards, amazing birdlife with over 400 species, giraffe and large hippos wallowing in the lake. For the small size of the park you enjoy a diverse and varied wildlife experience

Lake Manyara National Park is a great fit in a Classic Northern Circuit Itinerary. It is a stopover option either on your way to the Serengeti or on your way back. Like Tarangire, it is good to have this option, particularly if you are using road transfers on the Safari routing. There are a few recommended accommodation options in and around Manyara.

Lake Manyara Tree Lodge is the only lodge to be found within the park borders. This remote and romantic Lodge is operated by one of our preferred partners andBeyond. Ten stilted tree-house suites with generous decks and massive windows open up to the lush forest and offer a unique and exclusive experience.

Lake Manyara Serena Lodge offers that all important family experience. There are lots of activities including day trips to Ngorongoro Crater. Or relax and enjoy a couple of days of quality family time. For assistance organizing your ideal family vacation, our consultants can create magic holidays tailored to your family. Tanzania and Kenya combine well for the iconic Safari Holiday! Take a look through our East African Explorer or chat to one of our consultants.
