An undiscovered wilderness with superb game-viewing, Kanga Camp is tucked in a remote private concession of Zimbabwe’s Mana Pools National Park. Just six luxury tents are spaced out around the water-hole in the shade of jackalberry trees, raised on wooden decks to have a view of the activity at the water’s edge. The spacious Meru tents are comfortably furnished with traditional safari charm, big wooden beds made up with the softest duvet, pillows and linen, reclining camp chairs on the private deck . The ensuite bathroom has flush toilet, running water and rustic bucket style outdoor showers, filled with hot water morning and evening and other times as requested. The huge honeymoon tent extends to a lounge area with two day beds, which can convert it to a family tent when required, and has a Victorian free-standing bathtub on the private deck in addition to the en suite bathroom.
A comfortable lounge deck at main lodge overlooking the water provides endless photo opportunities as animals come to drink, so guests see plenty of wild life, including the resident fish eagles, before even stepping out of the camp, but there is much more to learn and see on foot or in safari vehicles with the dedicated guides. Day long drives with picnic lunch beside the wide Zambezi river are an option, and fishing and canoeing trips can be booked in advance. Delicious home-cooked food is served at a long table on the dining deck and guests can share their day while watching the nocturnal creatures come to drink.
