A prime example of the gold standard when it comes to African safaris, the various buildings of the lodge are grouped around a central rim-flow pool with views of the Great Rift valley. Lake Manyara Serena Lodge was built in African style and is accessed via a bridge over a stream. The main areas include a dining room, bar and expansive veranda towering over the pool, while an observation point enables guest to properly take in the vast vistas.
Scattered around the grounds, and affording equally wonderful views, a series of circular two-storey rondavels consist of 54 rooms, 1 executive room, 12 triple rooms and 41 twin rooms.
All the rooms are en-suite and are decorated in a unique style that echoes and depicts Lake Manyara’s fascinating birdlife.
Offering a vast array of activities and experiences, guests at Lake Manyara Serena Lodge can look forward to unforgettable bush dinners, a selection of informative and exhilarating guided morning bird walks as well as various wildlife talks, audio-visual presentations and talks about the heritage and traditions of the local tribes. Cultural tours of neighbouring villages are also on offer at Lake Manyara Serena Lodge, as well as the mainstay of a true safari holiday: a daily selection of morning and afternoon game drives around the Lake Manyara, as well as thrilling night-time game drives.
There are also canoeing safaris on the lake, boating trips and adrenalin-inducing mountain biking routes around the park and the escarpment’s unique landscapes. Facilities at Lake Manyara Serena Lodge include satellite television, a well-equipped tented conference room, Wi-Fi areas and a state-of-the-art business centre, should the need arise to do some work.
With its unrivalled scenery, vast plains as far as the eye can see and the proximity of Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire National Parks, Lake Manyara Serena Lodge is one of the gems in East Africa’s crown
