Deep inside southwest Ugandas Bwindi Impenetrable Forest – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – lies Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp. Its the only camp within Bwindi National Park, which is home to more than half of the worlds last surviving population of mountain gorillas. Seeing these gentle African giants in their natural habitat is a rare treat as only eight visitors are allowed to view each group of mountain gorillas per day.

Consisting of eight luxurious guest tents, every creature comfort is catered for and each of the spacious en-suite units feature two queen-size beds and a bathtub with ample views of the forest – the ultimate way to soothe tired muscles after a day of tracking in the jungle.

Another highlight is a cultural tour, which involves interacting with local communities on many levels. While walking, guests can meet tea pickers, see how banana beer is made and even visit a traditional medicine man, before being treated to an authentic performance by the Batwa pigmy community. The unique forest setting also allows for unforgettable views, and the region is characterised by dramatic mountain ranges, eye-catching waterfalls, volcanoes and jagged valleys.
