With the water’s return in 2008 comes a shift in focus for the Savuti Camp guests are afforded the opportunity to witness a new influx of animal species that explore and frolic in the nearby channels. Situated in an isolated part of the Linyanti Concession along the Savute Channel in northern Botswana, Savuti Camp is unique in that it is in a state of flux having being without water channels for many, many years.  The result is a plethora of game and wildlife concentrated in one area at Savuti Camp from giraffe to lion, leopard, cheetah, spotted hyena, black-backed jackal and the rarely seen wild dog. And in the drier winter months, large herds of elephant are spotted virtually every day. Days are spent venturing out in 4×4’s, on guided walks or holing up in animal hides for up-close sightings.

With just seven spacious permanent tents, dressed in luxe linens and featuring romantic four-poster beds and spacious outdoor verandahs, Savuti Camp is an intimate escape that despite its remote position remains absolutely luxurious.

A central guest area with its dining room and plunge pool comes complete with a raised platform looking out over the Savute channel, sets the scene for lazy days enjoying the heat of the African wilds and the sights and sounds of its many residents. After dark at Savuti Camp the Wilderness signature hospitality sets in, with lantern lit gourmet meals and accompanying fine wines setting a five star tone.
