Comfort is key at the intimate Serondella Game Lodge, which is set on the banks of a tributary to the Monwana River. The property can accommodate eight guests in a variety of accommodation options. Ranging from three luxury suites (each with sweeping vistas from the bedroom and the bathroom) to a self-contained family suite, the emphasis is on catering for the specific needs of guests. The generous, double-storey family suite includes three bedrooms, a reception room and a cosy open fireplace.
The fact that Serondella only allows such a limited number of guests means that every guest has their host’s undivided attention
– and surprise bush and boma dinners, as well as intimate sunset dinners for two on the viewing hides are just some of the delights to be experienced.
The main lodge area has everything a safari destination needs – from a boma to a bar area and a refreshing swimming pool.
A variety of trees provide ample shade, and ensures abundant birdlife. In fact, the lodge’s viewing hides allow bird lovers up close and personal encounters with the Reserve’s impressive 507 different bird species, not to mention regular visits by four-footed animals.
Serondella quite literally means “the place of the elephant” and these gentle animals are often spotted at the lodge’s two waterholes. Well-trained staff members include a highly qualified ranger and tracker team who regularly treat guests to exclusive game drives and bush walks for unrestricted encounters with Africa’s wildlife. Back at the camp, the catering staff are responsible for superb culinary offerings.
As the perfect location for families or photographers, Serondella’s suspended wooden walkways and luxuriously appointed suites are spot on for game-viewers and set in one of the most pristine African wilderness areas.
